The paper discusses some new applications of traditional bobbin lacemaking techniques applied by the author as a possible strand in the development of bobbin lace. Improvisation and interpretation embedded in specific author’s works, the elements inherited from the classical models and the freedom of implementation, along with the transformation of the familiar and the continuity of the skill, are studied through the theory of French philosopher Michel de Certeau and his The Practice of Everyday Life (L'Invention du Quotidien).
